The 2017/18 Ghana Premier League season will commence on March 3, 2018, the Ghana Football Association has confirmed at their 24th Ordinary Congress held today.
President Kwesi Nyantakyi said the season will be launched next week Monday, February 26.
The league which was supposed to start on February 11, was postponed indefinitely following an injunction suit by Accra Great Olympics.
But according to Nyantakyi, the ruling by Accra High Court to dismiss the case filed by Olympics against the FA has given them the leeway to start the new league season.
The GFA boss also announced that as part of efforts to support the development of football at the lower-tier level his outfit would absorb a portion of the officiating fees to be paid by all Division One League clubs.
He said the clubs will only pay GHS3000 out of the total GHS28,800 officiating fee with the FA paying for the remaining GHS25,800.
