It is not yet February, but the average Ghanaian news follower can confidently predict some of the major headlines that will pervade the news.
“Condoms ran out of stock in Accra,” “Mad Rush For Viagra in Kumasi,” and “Shortage of Viagra & Condoms in Accra!” – these are but a few headlines which mid-February will produce, of course without fail.
The reason? Simple! Another Valentine season would have turned up and, as usual, Ghanaian couples and lovers would be exploring avenues to express their love and affection to their partners.
One thing, however, remains a fact: Valentine – or a positive expression of love – has nothing to do with condoms or Viagra use as some Ghanaians have made it appear. Rather, it is about celebrating ones’ own partner in a manner that is not only memorable, but also honouring.
It was against this backdrop that the multiple award-winning musician, Okyeame Kwame, and his wife, Annica, added a different dimension to the celebration of Valentine last year with the introduction of the Flaunt Your Lover event.
Briefly, Flaunt Your Lover is an exclusive dinner-cum-music event where the celebrity couple host, to celebrate couples and lovers who have stayed true to their commitments.
The event brings together couples at a plush location to dine and wine, share their love experiences and get serenaded with live-band music from Okyeame Kwame and his band.
The maiden edition, held at the Silverbird Cinemas & Lounge inside Accra Mall, registered a huge patronage of both married and dating couples who could not hide their excitements after the event.
This year’s event, however, would be much different and delightful. In partnership with Alisa Hotel in Accra, Okyeame Kwame and his wife, Annica, have set Friday, February 16, to thrill their guests to yet another experience.
As Annica noted, “the partnership with Alisa Hotel has brought an entirely new verve and repertoire this year, and so our guests must only grab their tickets and wait for the experience.”
The year’s event will be held at the Ridge Arena Hall of the Alisa Hotel, and already preparations have begun in earnest to give patrons an unmatchable experience.
“The thing is, each category of ticket a couple buys comes with exciting prizes on the night; such as a weekend/night stay at the plush hotel, hampers, and countless surprise prizes,” Annica indicated.
She described the prizes as “bonuses” to the live-band music, buffet dinner and other interesting couple activities, including a talk by a prominent marriage speaker, that the night promises to deliver.
