Beyoncé Releases “Lion King” Inspired Album Track List Featuring Shatta Wale, Other African Artistes and Producers

The past few months have been filled with anticipation for the release of the live-action remake of the Disney classic, “The Lion King”. The combination of its incredible cast line-up; including Donald Glover, Beyoncé and Chiwetel Ejiofor, and the thought-provoking teasers has not helped quell mass anxiety either.

To top it all up, Disney recently announced that Beyoncé has executively produced an album inspired by the film titled “The Lion King: The Gift”, on which she has enlists a number of African artistes and producers.

In what is perhaps the most high profile collaboration of his career,  Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale will be featuring on the Lion King album curated by Beyoncé

Beyoncé curated soundtrack titled The Lion King: The Gift, which will feature new songs performed by multiple artists.

Some of the artists include Nigeria’s Mr. Eazi, Yemi Alade, Tiwa Savage and Burna Boy.

Ahead of its planned July 19th theatre release date, Disney and Beyoncé has revealed the soundtrack list for “The Lion King” movie.

The soundtrack album which was released digitally on July 11 and a subsequent release in physical copies on July 19, features a rendition of “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” by Beyoncé and Donald Glover (Childish Gambino).

It also features an original from British musician, Elton John, selections from Hans Zimmer’s score and Chiwetel Ejiofor singing a 2019 version of “Be Prepared”.
